The Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations highlighted that Iran's increasing influence in Lebanon through Hezbollah serves as a 'warning sign' for Middle East peace. This statement underscored Israel's commitment not to passively await attacks but to defend its citizens. Israeli UN Ambassador Danny Danon made these remarks on March 31 during an emergency UN Security Council meeting on Lebanon held at UN headquarters in New York, accusing Iran of attempting to obstruct negotiations between Israel and Lebanon.

Israel has stated it will continue dialogue with the Lebanese government and retaliate if Hezbollah launches attacks. Ambassador Danny Danon expressed hope that the Lebanese government would take active measures against Hezbollah, which is supported by Iran. Israel aims for the Lebanese government and military to be free from Iran's proxy forces.

American diplomats are scheduled to participate in peace talks with Iranian officials in Switzerland, and U.S. Vice President JD Vance has expressed hope for progress on the Lebanese ceasefire issue. Israeli President Isaac Herzog stated that any diplomatic solution must include the disarmament of Hezbollah.

The expansion of Iran's influence within Lebanon is a factor increasing geopolitical instability in the Middle East region. A potential escalation of conflict between Hezbollah and Israel could also impact regional logistics and transportation. Iran's terrorist proxy forces have stated they are prepared to respond to U.S.-Israeli attacks.
