President Lee Jae-myung visited Rome and Evian on June 24th. This visit served as an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of Korea's industrial, supply chain, artificial intelligence (AI), and energy strategies, and to re-establish Korea's position in the international community.

The summit meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni achieved the significant outcome of elevating bilateral relations to a 'Special Strategic Partnership' for the first time in 26 years. Both countries adopted the 'Korea-Italy Strategic Action Plan 2026-2030.'

In Evian, President Lee was invited to the G7 Summit, reaffirming Korea's status and providing an opportunity to convey Korea's stance on global issues such as supply chains, AI, and climate change. This European tour confirmed that Korea is a nation indispensable to the industrial, supply chain, AI, and energy strategies of G7 countries.

This diplomatic engagement carries the challenge of transitioning from external achievements like 'relationship elevation' and 'G7 invitation' to tangible national interests.
