Parents of 7-year-old who died charged with child abuse

A case involving the death of a 7-year-old boy has occurred near Flint, Michigan. The boy weighed 255 pounds at the time of his death.

The boy's parents, Damien O'Brien and Jessica O'Brien, have been indicted on charges of murder, torture, and child abuse. Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton stated that the conditions inside the home at the time were so severe that paramedics had no space to even provide aid.

The boy's 5-year-old sister has been removed from the home by child protective services and is currently in foster care.
