President Orders Immediate, Full Lifting of Public Sector Vehicle Odd-Even Scheme

President Lee Jae-myung directed on June 30, during a Cabinet meeting, that the public sector vehicle odd-even scheme be immediately and fully lifted, rather than phased out. The President's justification for the immediate removal was that public officials have been 'sacrificing too harshly' due to the odd-even system.

The government has downgraded the crisis alert level for crude oil resource security from 'Alert' to 'Watch'.

The implementation of the vehicle odd-even scheme resulted in the detection of approximately 27,000 violations and succeeded in saving 169,090 barrels of oil per month. The President's directive continues the trend of regulatory easing, citing the sacrifices of public officials as the rationale.
