US Vice President Assesses 'Core Mission Accomplished' in Preventing Iran's Nuclear Weapons

US Vice President JD Vance has assessed that preventing Iran from possessing nuclear weapons was America's 'core mission' and that this mission has been successfully accomplished.

In an interview with a local broadcaster, Vance stated that regardless of the outcome of high-stakes negotiations with Iran, the US has secured an advantage over Iran, signifying the achievement of a key objective of the Donald Trump administration.

He added that if negotiations succeed, Iran could abandon its nuclear program, cease funding proxy forces influencing the Middle East, and re-enter the global economy. However, Vance remarked that if Iran fails to make the required concessions, its nuclear program would still be dismantled, and America's relative position concerning Iran would be further strengthened.

Vance's remarks came as the US negotiating delegation arrived in Qatar to hold talks with mediators. High-level talks between Washington and Tehran are not currently scheduled.
