Keimyung University Institute for Women's Studies Hosts Special Lecture on Anti-Prostitution Movement
The Keimyung University Institute for Women's Studies held a special lecture on July 2nd focused on the 'anti-prostitution movement' to promote the human rights and rights of women in the local community. The lecture was part of a research project titled 'The Era of Transition, Regions, Women, and the Production of Life,' with a particular emphasis on exploring feminist practical approaches based on field experiences in the Daegu region.
During the lecture, the development process of the Daegu anti-prostitution movement and the value of feminist practice were explored from a translocal perspective. It also theoretically addressed how local feminist practice connects and expands to movements, agendas, and feminist research in other regions.
Lee Jeong-bak-eun-ja, director of the Daegu Women's Human Rights Center, delivered the lecture. Through this special lecture, the Keimyung University Institute for Women's Studies shared field experiences and theoretical expansion of the local feminist movement.
