Trump: AI to become 'bigger industry than the internet,' sees US leading in semiconductors

Former U.S. President Donald Trump asserted that artificial intelligence (AI) will become far more massive than the internet and grow into an industry larger than the internet itself.

He warned that if the U.S. does not maintain its lead in AI, China will seize it.

Trump added that the U.S. will account for a significant portion of global semiconductor production, projecting that domestic semiconductor production could reach 40-60% by the end of his term.

Mentioning that companies like Intel are returning to the U.S., he noted that TSMC, Samsung Electronics, and Intel are operating or constructing production facilities in places like Arizona.
