Launch of 9th Popularly Elected Term: Meeting Sacheon Mayor Park Dong-sik

Re-elected Sacheon Mayor Park Dong-sik assessed the past four years as a time spent preparing for the next 100 years of Sacheon. Through the opening of the Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA) and the inauguration of the Changwon National University Sacheon Aerospace Campus, the groundwork has been laid for the region to leap forward as an aerospace hub city.

The core of the 9th popularly elected administration is to complete an aerospace cluster ecosystem where policy, industry, R&D, and education interact. To this end, Mayor Park announced plans to pursue the enactment of the 'Special Act on the Aerospace Complex City' and the construction of the main KASA building. The plan is to swiftly finalize the enactment of the special act through cooperation with the government, the National Assembly, and Gyeongsangnam-do Province.

To secure the competitiveness of the aerospace city, the city is pushing for the construction of a wide-area transportation network, including the expansion of domestic routes at Sacheon Airport and improved accessibility. Discussions with relevant agencies for linking to the national railway network are also set to continue.
