President's Positive Rating 48.9% vs Negative 47.7%... 1.2% Point Gap Shows 'Dead Heat'

According to a Realmeter poll, the President's job performance approval rating stood at 48.9%, while the disapproval rating was 47.7%. The gap between the two sides is a mere 1.2 percentage points (p), indicating a close race within the margin of error. In terms of political party support, the Democratic Party recorded 44.8%, while the People Power Party garnered 38.1%.

President Job Performance Evaluation and Trends

The positive evaluation for job performance represents a 1.9%p increase from the previous survey on July 6, which stood at 47%. The negative evaluation fell by 1.5%p from 49.2%. Compared to the June 29 survey, the positive rating rose by 2.4%p, while the negative rating dropped by 1.8%p. According to the polling agency, the positive rating has shown an upward trend for three consecutive surveys, with a recent fluctuation of 2.4%p. Conversely, the negative rating has recorded a downward trend for three consecutive surveys, with a recent fluctuation of -1.8%p.

Changes in Political Party Support Ratings

The Democratic Party's support rate was calculated at 44.8%. This is a 1.8%p increase compared to the July 6 survey (43%). Compared to June 29 (41%), it rose by 3.8%p. The People Power Party's support rate recorded 38.1%. This is a 2.2%p drop from the previous survey of 40.3%, and compared to the survey from a month ago (42%), it fell by approximately 3.9%p. Notably, it showed a significant decline of over 3%p compared to June 29.

The Progressive Party's support rate was measured at 3.7%. It surged by 62.1%p compared to the July 6 survey (1.6%) and rose by a wide margin of 62.2%p compared to June 29 (1.5%). The Cho Kuk Innovation Party recorded 2.7%, up 0.8%p from 1.9% a week ago, but down 1%p from the survey a month prior (3.7%). The Reformation Party stood at 1.8%, down 1.2%p from the previous survey's 3%, and a 1%p drop compared to the June 29 survey (2.8%).
