9 Nations, Including France, Form Missile Defense Coalition with Ukraine

The French Presidency announced on the 13th (local time) that following talks in Paris, nine nations—Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden—agreed to build an Integrated Air and Missile Defense coalition with Ukraine.

Citing the increasing ballistic missile threat and the growing importance of defense capabilities for European security, the Elysee Palace declared the creation of a coalition for purely defensive purposes.

It further added that a comprehensive solution in the form of an integrated missile defense system is necessary to deter and neutralize future missile threats.
