Heavy Rain Warning Issued for Sunchang, Imsil in North Jeolla... Up to 50mm Expected by Dawn

The Jeonju Meteorological Office issued a heavy rain warning for Imsil and Sunchang in North Jeolla Province, and a heavy rain advisory for Namwon, Jangsu, Muju, and Jinan, effective at 12:10 a.m. on the 19th. The agency forecasted 30 to 80mm of rain across the province on the 19th, with some areas expected to receive over 120mm.

As of 1 a.m. on the 19th, cumulative rainfall figures were recorded at 61.5mm in Gunsan's Eocheongdo, 56mm in Imsil, 46.5mm at Muju's Seolcheonbong Peak, 43.3mm in Sunchang, and 42.5mm in Jinan.

The North Jeolla Provincial Government has activated Level 1 of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and is maintaining a 24-hour monitoring system.
