Driver in His 20s Detained After Crashing into Commercial Building in Seoul's Wangsimni

Controversy is growing after a driver in his 20s, found to be intoxicated at a level subject to license revocation, crashed into a commercial building in Seoul's Wangsimni.

A police report (112) was received around 1 a.m. on the 2nd after Mr. A crashed his vehicle into a building while driving in the Wangsimni area of Seongdong-gu, Seoul. The Seongdong Police Station is investigating him without detention on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving). An on-site investigation confirmed that the vehicle driven by Mr. A first collided with a cafe building near Wangsimni Station, then traveled approximately 300 meters further before crashing into a nearby commercial building. No casualties were reported in this accident.

The Seongdong Police Station are investigating Mr. A's movements and the specific circumstances surrounding the accident.
