NASA Space Station Tech Opens New Frontiers in Solar System Exploration

NASA astronauts completed a spacewalk lasting over six hours on the 6th to upgrade the International Space Station's power system. This work enhances the station's power efficiency, laying a stable energy foundation for space exploration, and marks the fourth spacewalk conducted this year. NASA conducted equipment installation work outside the station ahead of the operation of a new solar power generation system this year.

Astronauts Jessica Meir and Anil Menon began their spacewalk at 8:33 AM EST, as the International Space Station passed over Germany. The operation proceeded with precision under the command of Flight Director Christopher Dobbins.

This power system overhaul is expected to expand the possibilities for solar system exploration. NASA plans to continue strengthening its space exploration capabilities through technological development.
