Fire Service Mobilizes 200 Fire Trucks Nationwide to Supply Agricultural Water to Gyeongnam
To assist the Gyeongnam region, which is suffering from severe drought damage, the National Fire Agency has mobilized 200 fire trucks and 400 personnel from across the country to supply agricultural water through the 13th. Starting from the morning of the 12th, fire trucks gathered in Miryang and other areas have been pumping water from the Miryang River and other sources to irrigate paddies.
Firefighters deployed on the scene sprayed water while adjusting the water pressure to prevent the rice crops from falling over.
The average water storage rate of agricultural reservoirs in the Gyeongnam region stands at 33.5%, roughly half of the annual average (72%). The water storage rate of the Gasan Reservoir in Cheongun-ri, Buguk-myeon, Miryang, also remains at just 30%.
