University Hospital Pharmacy Staffer Under Investigation for Suspected Drug Use Within Hospital

A pharmacy management employee, identified as A, at a university hospital in Gangwon Province was found collapsed in a hospital restroom on the morning of the 10th. A subsequently showed symptoms of cardiac arrest and is receiving treatment in the ICU.

Police have secured biological samples from A and requested drug analysis from the National Forensic Service to determine if they used medical narcotics. Once A's condition stabilizes, police plan to investigate potential violations of medical narcotic management regulations and the circumstances of the alleged use.

In parallel, police will conduct interviews with hospital staff as witnesses and review internal management systems.
