Video of assault spreads online; Police launch investigation into participant
Songpa Police Station in Seoul is investigating a man in his 50s, identified only as A, who was caught red-handed on charges of assaulting another participant at a protest site near Olympic Park on the 27th of last month.
While footage showing A grabbing a protester with opposing views by the back of the neck and dragging him was circulated via social networking services (SNS), police dispatched to the scene are verifying A’s identity and determining the exact circumstances of the incident.
Songpa Police Station is investigating the specific details and motives behind the crime by interviewing A, the victim, and witnesses.
