Anyang City Saves 2,400 Hours and 20 Million Won Annually Using AI

Anyang City saved 2,400 hours of administrative manpower and 20 million won in budget through AI alone. Civil servants applied artificial intelligence (AI) to administrative tasks, reducing annual workload by approximately 2,400 hours and saving about 20 million won in promotional material production costs. This achievement is the result of the newly established AI Strategy Bureau introducing 'AI Work Assistants' to all staff and operating the 'Smart Anyang AI Academy' training this year. Among the 30 total entries, 20 (67%) were works by training graduates.

The Grand Prize was awarded to 'Simple Diagnosis Service for Child Support Eligibility' by An Ji-min, a主管 officer at the Health Promotion Division of Dongan District Health Center. The service was implemented as a self-diagnosis page where citizens can answer six questions on the website to check their eligibility status, estimated support amount, and payment schedule.

The Excellence Prize was awarded to Kim Yu-ri, head of the Tax Investigation Team at the Tax Division, and Lee Hyun-ju, head of the Industrial Accident Prevention Team at the Employment and Labor Division. Head Kim developed a program to automatically verify 150,000 tax records, reducing processing time from 180 minutes to 15 minutes per case. Head Lee achieved results of saving approximately 1,200 hours by automatically classifying 30,000 annual reports regarding illegal parking and stopping filed through the 'e-People' system.

Cases of promotional material production using AI also stood out. Kim Ji-eun, a主管 officer at the Women and Family Division, created a four-panel webtoon containing labor-related legal information, while Kang Hye-ryun, a主管 officer at the Road Division, produced a short-form video promoting FC Anyyang's promotion. Lee Hye-ri, a主管 officer at the Public Relations Planning Officer, also personally produced a video introducing the administrative direction of the 9th popularly elected administration. The city stated that these cases saved approximately 20 million won in outsourcing costs and shortened production periods.

Anyang City plans to produce a 'AI Administrative Usage Case Book' containing excellent examples and distribute it to all departments. Additionally, the city will standardize prompts to expand the use of AI throughout the city administration.
