August 28 Crowdfunding Report: Nauhome 18.75 Million Won

A single cordless vacuum cleaner raised 18 million won. Aggregating disclosed reward-based crowdfunding data reveals that the Samsung battery-equipped auto-emptying cordless vacuum cleaner presented by Nauhome Co., Ltd. topped the list with 18.75 million won in pledges. The rankings for second place were similarly tight. Onwa’s 500g-class King Shrimp raised 15.7 million won, while IQBox’s Playmobil X ESA space collaboration toy surpassed 15.5 million won.

Top Four Projects Capture 60% of Funds

Summing the disclosed fundraising amounts yields a scale of approximately 90 million won. The combined total of the Nauhome vacuum, Onwa King Shrimp, IQBox space toy, and Runnerfit running full set (8.97 million won) comes to just over 59 million won, surpassing 60% of the total. This demonstrates that the “winner-takes-all” structure, where a few hit products sweep up the capital, is being replicated in reward-based funding.

The situation for the lower ranks differs. A portable high-speed charger stalled in the range of 70,000 won, while a travel compression pouch stopped at around 360,000 won. This implies that product reactions vary as widely as the gap between tens of thousands of won and 18 million won. From the perspective of participating companies, funding is read as a demand verification tool to check market response before acting as a sales channel; this is why phrases like “Wadiz Exclusive” or “First Reveal” are often placed in titles.

Summer Dominates August Funding Landscape

The fact that the tally date is late summer is clearly reflected in the data. Cooling briefs, claiming to drop to -5°C upon wearing, raised 490,000 won, and a 100-tier mini cooling fan secured 150,000 won. Seasonal bias in the food sector is even more pronounced. Greenpick’s peach and plum pie (410,000 won), Fruit Meister’s new grape variety “Purple Lady” (1.33 million won), “Apple Summer King” marketed as a one-month sale (930,000 won), and Hyong-gon’s charcuterie (870,000 won) all leveraged seasonal and limited-edition concepts. As demand vanishes when seasons change, marketing that uses scarcity language to narrow the purchase window is maturing alongside these trends.

Rise of AI Tools and Encore Strategies

A new trend is AI. Ssongon raised 3.81 million won with an AI content production tool that generates videos, music, and shopping shorts with a single click. Algorixm collected 1.8 million won with a system that allows non-developers to create and monetize services using AI, and Soonsaktool, which promises completed shorts without editing experience, also made the list. This is interpreted as productivity tools targeting creators and self-employed individuals establishing themselves as a distinct sector.

The power of repeated exposure is also evident. People Korea Co., Ltd. rekindled repurchase demand with glossy towels and hair towels marked as “25th and 22nd Encore.” Multi-product operation cases are not uncommon, such as SMS Co., Ltd., which alternately released chargers, pouches, and fans, and LOOK AT ME, which successively launched underwear, silicone body pads, and wrist mounts. Funding is being used not just for one-off sales but as a means to build a fanbase at the brand level. The success of non-physical content is also noteworthy. Shim-yeon-ui Bookstore’s Tarot Reading and Numerology Textbook raised 2.98 million won, and Audiobooks, which released 500 limited copies of Venerable Beopjeong’s voice audio book, recorded 4.58 million won. This demonstrates that funds can be raised solely through fandom and scarcity without the burden of logistics.

Outlook: Funding Solidifies as a Channel for Demand Verification

This data suggests two key points. First, reward-based crowdfunding serves as both a testing ground for new product marketability and a channel for acquiring initial customers. Second, while capital concentrates on instantly consumable goods like appliances, toys, and food, experimental AI tools remain mid-tier. For the AI sector to leap to the top ranks, it must prove subscription conversion and sustained usage beyond one-off purchases.

Confucius warned that learning without thought leads to getting lost. The funding records are accumulated, and the remaining task is to interpret the seasonality and concentration within them.

As we transition into autumn, the summer-focused structure of summer goods and seasonal fruits is expected to naturally reorganize. Items with low seasonal constraints like chargers, glasses, and bags are expected to maintain relatively stable fundraising, and functional accessories—like Trubo’s anti-theft sling bag which drew 2.92 million won—may continue to make strides. The key variable for the second half of the year will be the growth rate of the AI content tool sector.
