20s Delivery Worker Detained for Attempted Sexual Assault at Customer’s Home a Month After Delivery

A man in his 20s was arrested after breaking into a woman's home a month after meeting her during a delivery and attempting to sexually assault her. Seoul Mapo Police Station announced on the 29th that they had arrested and transferred Mr. A to the prosecution on the 11th for illegally entering a villa in Sinchon on the 2nd and attempting to commit the crime against a Vietnamese woman.

A police investigation revealed that Mr. A had delivered to Ms. B’s home about a month prior while working as a delivery rider. It was found that Mr. A used the address information he obtained at that time to revisit the house, believing she lived alone, in an attempt to commit the crime. The attempt was thwarted when Ms. B’s acquaintances, who were inside the house with her at the time, reported the incident to the police.

Police tracked Mr. A's movements using CCTV and other means and arrested him urgently on the 6th. The court conducted a pre-arrest interrogation for Mr. A on the 8th and issued an arrest warrant.
