South Korean Helicopters Launch Search for Missing Nationals in Nepal Flood Zones

The South Korean government has deployed helicopters to launch a search operation for missing nationals in the areas of Nepal devastated by massive floods. The Korean Embassy in Nepal secured estimated coordinates for the missing individuals and promptly transmitted them to the Nepalese government. With roads and bridges leading to the affected areas completely washed away by the floods, making ground access impossible, aerial search has become the only viable option.

According to the government, the response team dispatched to the region has contacted key local figures, including officials from Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to request cooperation necessary for search and rescue efforts, such as helicopter operations. Team Leader Im Sang-woo met with local representatives to emphasize that the lives and safety of Korean nationals must be the top priority.

The Rapid Response Team remains in Nepal to oversee and support the search activities.
