South Korean Presidential Office Condemns N. Korean Missile Launch as Violation of UN Security Council Resolutions

After North Korea fired short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea on the 12th, the National Security Office held an emergency security situation review meeting the same day, attended by relevant agencies including the Defense Ministry and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said it detected the launch of multiple ballistic missiles from the Wonsan area into the East Sea at around 5:20 a.m. on the 12th.

The National Security Office defined North Korea's ballistic missile launch as a grave act violating UN Security Council resolutions. It also urged North Korea to immediately halt such launches, it said.
