September 13 Jobs Market Report: Rolex Hiring Staff
Rolex has opened public hiring for staff at its first standalone flagship store in South Korea.
An analysis of public job posting data shows a total of 80 recent postings from 46 companies. The most eye-catching among them is Rolex's recruitment of an assistant store manager, sales associates, and office support staff for its first standalone flagship store in the country. LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton Korea also posted listings for sales associates covering Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and nationwide, while LVMH Group jewelry brands Chaumet and Fred rolled out postings for assistant managers and staff. Luxury retail hiring has emerged as the dominant trend in this round of data.
Expansion of a Headhunting-Driven Mid-Career Market
A significant share of the 80 postings were not direct open recruitment by companies but headhunting-type listings handled by consulting and executive search firms. Humanist Co. posted numerous listings specializing in luxury retail hiring, while Renew People was entrusted to recruit a global game general manager, an ITS lab director, and a team leader for overseas sales of automotive defense PCBs. Raon Search sought experienced manufacturing talent, including an associate-level SHE (safety, health and environment) specialist at an advanced chemicals manufacturer and manager- to deputy general manager-level cosmetics ingredient sales staff, while ManpowerSearch looked for a CMO and an e-commerce leader for a clean, vegan beauty brand.
This landscape reflects a growing share of outsourced hiring in the mid-career job market. As companies target ready-to-contribute experienced professionals with precision rather than running mass recruitment of new graduates, executive search firms are expanding their role as a distribution channel for talent across industries. The abundance of job titles alone — from associate to manager, senior manager, general manager, and director level — shows how finely segmented the requirements have become. Hiring practices that weigh rank and hands-on experience over age are now reflected even in the wording of job postings.
Diverging Hiring Patterns Across Industries
Clear differences emerge by sector. The first is luxury and beauty retail. With Rolex, Louis Vuitton, and LVMH-affiliated jewelry brands focusing on sales roles, demand for customer-facing staff has revived. Paye Skin Clinic's hiring of skin care specialists and consultation managers follows the same recovery in consumer services.
The second is technology and engineering. VAerospace simultaneously recruited R&D staff for 2026 in Incheon and Daejeon, while GoodCareer sought a data center development PM and power panel electrical design engineers for a mid-sized manufacturer. JS&E's automatic control programmer posting and a quality QC listing from an advanced chemical materials company entrusted to Background fall into the same category. Hiring in foundational industries such as aerospace, data centers, and automatic control continues steadily.
The third is education and customer service. Saenggak Academy and S-K English Academy sought middle school math teachers and administrative staff, while P&P Career recruited call center agents for Yogiyo and Bithumb by region. Human Consulting Group's hiring of a year-end tax settlement module developer highlights how payroll system demand recurs in step with changes in labor-related regulations.
Signals of Demand for Global and Compliance Talent
Two notable sub-trends stand out. One is the requirement for global capabilities — exemplified by Renew People's English-proficient global game GM and Paye Skin Clinic's English-speaking skin care specialist. Even the domestic consumer market now operates with overseas customers and global services in mind. The other is compliance and security roles. A foreign insurer's compliance team leader (entrusted to HR4U) and Maverick Consulting's information security manager posting signal that compliance talent is structurally necessary in a period of tightening regulation.
Trade-related sales roles are also seen in several postings, such as an automotive parts Key Account Manager, trade administration, and defense PCB overseas sales. This is interpreted as a move by export-dependent industries to secure experienced sales professionals in advance.
Outlook: The Era of Precision Hiring Continues
The key takeaway from this data is that hiring has shifted from large-scale open recruitment to small, elite, role-specific recruitment. Postings that clearly specify the role and rank — from sales associates to lab directors, CMOs, and team leaders — account for an overwhelming share. For companies, a strategy of hiring only candidates whose experience and rank precisely match the role has become advantageous in reducing hiring risk.
Luxury retail hiring, including Rolex's standalone flagship store, is a case of the premiumization of domestic luxury consumption extending into employment, and the expansion of major brands' directly operated stores is expected to continue driving demand for staff. Meanwhile, as the headhunting outsourcing model becomes entrenched, search firms' intermediary role in the mid-career job market is likely to grow further. For job seekers, building experience in a specific role and proving it clearly is set to become an effective strategy in the hiring market.
