October 6 Jobs Market Report: Rolex Hires Staff for First Standalone Store

Rolex is publicly recruiting staff for its first standalone flagship store in Korea. The job posting, confirmed to be handled by recruiting agency Humanist, seeks a deputy store manager, sales associates, and office support staff all at once — suggesting a store-opening-scale hiring drive ahead of the shop's launch.

Luxury and Service Hiring Drives the Market

Of the 80 job postings from 46 companies recorded in public data, Humanist accounts for the largest share as a single client, with 18 listings. Beyond the Rolex standalone store hiring, Louis Vuitton Korea is recruiting sales associates across Seoul, Gyeonggi, and nationwide, while Chaumet and Fred — jewelry brands under the LVMH Group — are hiring assistant managers and associates. It reads as a signal that foreign luxury brands are expanding their store workforce in Korea from multiple angles.

The backdrop appears to be the growing value of experienced sales staff as luxury consumption shifts toward offline experiences. The simultaneous recruitment of managerial roles like deputy store manager, sales associates, and administrative support suggests not simple staff replacement but new-location expansion or organizational consolidation. The composition of Rolex's first standalone Korean flagship carries particular symbolic weight.

A Glimpse Into the Job-Hopping Market: Headhunting and Senior-Level Hiring

Matching the luxury sector in prominence is the breadth of hiring routed through professional headhunting and executive search firms. Renewpeople has taken on numerous career-focused positions, including an English-speaking global game GM, a research lab head at an ITS specialist company, and an overseas sales team lead for automotive defense PCBs. Laonsearch Co. is also seeking an environment, safety and health (SHE) manager at an advanced chemicals manufacturer and sales roles at the manager-to-senior-manager level at a cosmetics ingredients company.

ManpowerSearch Co. is handling executive- and leadership-level roles such as a CMO for a clean, vegan beauty brand and an e-commerce leader. Maverick Consulting is hiring a department head-to-director-level automotive parts sales manager and an information security administrator, while HR4U is seeking a compliance team lead at a foreign insurance company. Goodcareer, too, is recruiting a data center development PM and switchgear electrical design roles at the manager-to-department head level at a manufacturing company. With multiple managerial postings specifying minimum years of experience, competition for mid-career talent appears to be intensifying.

Patterns Emerging From the Industry Map

By sector, the distribution is broad, spanning luxury retail, beauty and cosmetics, gaming, defense and automotive electronics parts, aerospace, IT and development, education, healthcare and dermatology, and finance and insurance. Notably, V-R Aerospace Co. is recruiting 2026 R&D personnel in Incheon and Daejeon, and even hiring separately for an Executive Assistant role — reflecting organizational expansion in Korea's aerospace industry.

Another pattern is "customer touchpoint" hiring. P&P Career is recruiting call center agents for Yogiyo and Bithumb in Busan and elsewhere, while Fave Dermatology Clinic is seeking an English-speaking esthetician and a counseling room manager near Yongsan Station. Freelance trainer recruitment at Uzfit's Changwon branch and Shop Music's hiring of early childhood music instructors also confirm that demand for face-to-face service workers persists across industries.

Outlook: Career Roles and Language Skills Are the Keywords

Two keywords recur throughout the data: career-position hiring with specified job titles, and language ability. "English proficiency" is attached as a condition for the global game GM role, and English requirements also appear in esthetician hiring. The trend suggests that roles serving overseas customers and global organizations are spreading across the service industry as a whole.

There is a truth the hiring market tells on its own. Like the adage that change is a process, not an event, the expansion of luxury stores and hiring centered on career experience and language skills is more accurately read as a gradual shift in industrial structure than as a seasonal fad. If managerial and professional hiring continues into the fourth quarter, the temperature of next year's first-half job-switching market is expected to run higher than anticipated.
