Presidential Office Again Urges Chief Justice Cho Hee-de to Renominate Supreme Court Justices
The presidential office on the 6th once again urged Chief Justice Cho Hee-de to respect the recommendation council's choices and proceed with the renomination of Supreme Court justices as swiftly as possible.
At a briefing that day, senior presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung said, "The presidential office's position remains unchanged," in response to a reporter's question about the office's stance on Chief Justice Cho's claim during a National Assembly audit that "the National Assembly's involvement in the nomination is unconstitutional."
President Lee Jae-myung is known to have chaired a Cabinet meeting on the morning of the 6th and then had lunch with acting Investigation Headquarters chief Jeon Jong-min, acting Prosecution Office chief Lee Jung-hyun, and National Police Agency chief Kim Jong-cheol, asking them to work together to ensure the new criminal justice system takes root with the launch of the Investigation Headquarters and the Prosecution Office.
