North Korea fires multiple ballistic missiles over 900km into East Sea

North Korea launched multiple ballistic missiles from the vicinity of Pyongyang toward the East Sea, with some of the missiles detected flying more than 900 kilometers. The Joint Chiefs of Staff said the military detected the launch of several ballistic missiles from around Pyongyang at around 9:20 a.m. on the 12th.

It marks North Korea's first ballistic missile launch in nine days. The North previously fired a ballistic missile toward the East Sea from the Wonsan area on the 3rd.

South Korean and U.S. intelligence authorities have been tracking and sharing related developments since the initial stages of the launch. The JCS said the South Korean military is closely monitoring various North Korean activities under a firm ROK-U.S. combined defense posture.
