Woman Stabbed in Incheon Rampage Regains Pulse but Remains Unconscious

A woman in her 20s whose heart stopped after being stabbed in a knife attack at a commercial building in Incheon has regained her pulse following emergency surgery but has yet to regain consciousness. Including her, a total of nine people were injured; the other eight suffered wounds to the arms, shoulders, or back and are undergoing treatment, but their lives are not in danger.

The attacker, identified as B, began his assault after taking an elevator from the first floor to the second floor of the building with weapons strapped to both hands. He then moved up to the third floor via an escalator, wielding the weapons at random people, according to reports. The victims are said to have had no prior acquaintance with B.

Citizens at the scene stepped in to subdue him. Some threw chairs at him from the third floor to block his movements, and he is believed to have resisted until police arrived.

Shortly after the attack, the father of the woman A met reporters in the emergency room of Gachon University Gil Medical Center. "I'm in no state to talk right now; let's talk later," he said before leaving.

Police plan to investigate B's motive and other details before applying for an arrest warrant on the 14th.
