Itaewon Crush Victims' Families Make Rice Balls by Hand to Share with Young People

On the fourth anniversary of the Itaewon crowd crush, bereaved families hand-made rice balls to share with young people, including those just starting their careers. The event stems from their wish to honor their grief and offer a small measure of comfort to struggling young people.

On the 16th, the families made rice balls, soup, and other food to be given to young people at Byeoldeului Jip (House of Stars) in the Hyundai Jeodong Building in Jongno District, Seoul. As many of the crush victims were young, the families organized this activity to both remember the deceased and comfort the surviving young people as the fourth anniversary approached.

The rice balls shaped and soup cooked by the families themselves were distributed to the young people who visited Byeoldeului Jip.
