Kim Yo-jong, department director of the Workers' Party of Korea, effectively rejected dialogue with the United States in a statement carried by the Korean Central News Agency on the 4th, saying, "There is no need to sit down with untrustworthy and hostile people." "The hostile signals the US is continuously sending toward our country are prompting us to reassess, from multiple angles, the true nature of the United States," Kim said. "While dialogue is certainly among the options for safeguarding peace, it does not necessarily coincide with our national interests," she added, saying, "We know no way of responding to the hostile signals the US keeps sending except in a different manner."

The statement came just two days after a November 2 statement rebutting claims that North Korea was behind the Binance cryptocurrency hack, adding a new position on North Korea-US dialogue.

Kim argued that "the 'cryptocurrency hacking incident attributed to the DPRK' is merely the tip of the iceberg that reveals the true nature of the US hostile policy toward the DPRK." "In trilateral diplomacy with Japan and South Korea, the US has once again raised its voice over someone's 'denuclearization,' while pressing ahead with joint military exercises under various pretexts, imposing unilateral and hostile sanctions, and publishing human trafficking reports — setting new records day after day in hostile arenas including denuclearization, human rights, cyber, sanctions, and military matters," she claimed. She asserted that abandoning the US hostile policy toward the DPRK is the fundamental premise and basic key to resolving all problems.
