Lee Jun-seok reveals his refusal to go easy on Jeon Han-gil stemmed from wounded pride
Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform Party, announced that after YouTuber Jeon Han-gil (legal name Jeon Yu-gwan), who raised allegations that he falsified his academic credentials, was referred to police with a recommendation for indictment on the 6th, he submitted a statement asking that she be punished. On Facebook, Lee wrote, "I hope her punishment serves as an occasion for those who raise academic credential allegations to look back on themselves."
He explained, "I had originally planned to submit a statement of no desire for punishment if Jeon acknowledged the facts and turned over a new leaf, but when I saw her standing on her pride, apparently unwilling to be embarrassed in the small world she had built for herself, I decided to call for punishment." A statement of no desire for punishment is a declaration by a victim that they do not wish the offender to be punished.
Lee said, "Her claims that I took sixteen Chinese-language classes are equally false," adding, "Everything she ranted about on YouTube is steadily meeting with legal consequences." He added, "Recently, the false claim that my younger brother was the personal physician of President Lee Jae-myung's brother was also referred for indictment."
