President Lee Jae-myung Calls YouTube Allegations of Slush Fund, Intel Leak 'Malicious Smear Campaign'
President Lee Jae-myung on March 19th criticized allegations of slush fund creation and military intelligence leaks raised on the YouTube channel 'Jeon Han-gil News' as 'unsubstantiated and malicious smear campaigns,' urging stern punishment. On the same day, the President wrote on his X account that the allegations were pathetic and malicious slander that should be severely punished.
On March 18th, a man claiming to be a former operative from the Agency for National Security Planning (ANSP) appeared on the YouTube channel and alleged that President Lee had transferred 160 trillion won and military secrets to China while in Singapore and was preparing to flee to China. In the video, the man claimed that 'US operatives have identified it all' but offered no specific evidence.
The broadcast host, Mr. Jeon, remarked that while the video's topic was of 'nuclear bomb' magnitude, the man's claims were separate from the channel's stance. Meanwhile, Han Jun-ho, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea, also shared a post criticizing Mr. Jeon's broadcast content and urging an investigation by law enforcement agencies.
