Identity of 40s Stalking Murderer Kim Hoon Publicly Revealed

The Gyeonggi Bukbu Provincial Police Agency has disclosed the personal information of Kim Hoon, 44, who murdered a woman in her 20s with whom he had previously dated. Police decided to do so after deliberation by the Personal Information Disclosure Committee, considering the brutality of the crime's method and the severity of the damage.

Kim Hoon, born in 1981, committed the crime around 9 AM on the 14th by breaking the window of the victim's car on a street in Onam-eup, Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. It appears Kim Hoon cut his electronic ankle monitor and fled immediately after the crime. He was apprehended in Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, approximately one hour after the incident. Upon arrest, he had consumed alcohol and a large amount of drugs, requiring hospital treatment.

Kim Hoon, who was arrested on the 17th, has since recovered and begun making statements. However, he is evading core questions, claiming he cannot remember the motive for the crime.

Considering Kim Hoon is receiving hospital treatment, police obtained his consent to use his driver's license photo instead of a directly taken picture and have posted it on the Gyeonggi Bukbu Provincial Police Agency website. The personal information will be displayed for one month, from the date of disclosure until the 20th of next month.
