Jeonju City to Offer Eco-Friendly Produce Packages to Expectant Mothers
Jeonju City announced on March 20, 2026, that it is launching a program to support expectant mothers with eco-friendly produce packages, aiming to help them maintain a healthy diet and boost local agricultural product sales. The initiative will target 1,700 individuals, with eligible expectant mothers residing in Jeonju City receiving support for packages of eco-friendly produce valued at up to 480,000 won.
Eligible recipients for this support program are mothers who have given birth on or after January 1, 2025, or are currently pregnant as of the application date, and are residents of Jeonju City. However, individuals receiving support from the 'Nutrition Plus' program or food voucher programs, or those who have already received support for the same child, are excluded.
Applications for the program will be accepted online via the Jeonbuk Eco Food website from March 23 to April 17. Those who face difficulties using online services can apply in person at their local community center.
Selected expectant mothers will receive points equivalent to 480,000 won in total value, including a personal contribution of 96,000 won, which can be used to purchase eco-friendly agricultural products and antibiotic-free livestock products. The Agricultural Technology Center plans to verify eligibility in late April and will notify selected recipients individually.
Kang Se-kwon, director of the Agricultural Technology Center, stated that the city will support mutual growth between citizens and farmers by providing healthy food options and securing stable sales channels for agricultural products.
