In 2026, cybersecurity threats are reaching their peak with the emergence of new malware at the CVSS 9.8 level. A score of 9.8 according to the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS), an international standard for evaluating security vulnerabilities, signifies a risk with a very large potential for damage.

Domestically, it has been found that 54.1% of cyberattacks are blocked through Endpoint Protection Platforms (EPP). This trend aligns with the high malware blocking rates observed in regions such as North America and Europe.

According to Security.org's recent '2025 Antivirus Trends, Statistics, and Market Report,' the adoption rate of malware protection features by countries worldwide showed a downward trend, decreasing by 9 percentage points from 61% in December 2023 to 52% in 2024.

As malware becomes more sophisticated through new technologies like AI, improvements in the performance and market share expansion of antivirus (AV) functions integrated into operating systems (OS) are gaining attention. Notably, Microsoft Defender holds the largest market share among OS-integrated AV solutions.

Recently, antivirus solutions are being utilized as part of security platforms, combined with advanced detection systems like EDR or XDR. This is a measure to counter fileless attacks or encrypted threats, indicating a shift towards integrated solutions that secure visibility across the entire network, beyond individual device defense.
