Democrat-Led States Vow Lawsuits Over Trump Executive Order
On the 1st, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order establishing a nationwide voter information network and restricting mail-in voting. President Trump signed the order in the White House Oval Office on Wednesday night, stating regarding potential legal challenges, "It may face scrutiny."
State governments led by Democrats, including California, Arizona, and Oregon, immediately announced their intention to file lawsuits. California Governor Gavin Newsom stated on X, "We are challenging this. See you in court."
Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes stated that 80% of Arizona voters use mail-in voting. Officials in Oregon also announced their intent to take legal action.
