4th Gyeongin Expressway Project to Cut Incheon-Seoul Travel Time by 25 Minutes Advances
The construction project for the 4th Gyeongin Expressway, which will enable travel between Incheon and Seoul in 25 minutes, is expected to move forward in earnest. The project gained the necessary momentum for advancement after passing the feasibility study conducted by the state-funded research institute, the Korea Development Institute (KDI).
The KDI feasibility study is a process that officially verifies the economic feasibility and policy effects of infrastructure projects requiring large-scale national financial investment.
The core objective of the project is to alleviate regional traffic congestion by forming a new transportation axis that bypasses existing congested areas. With the passing of the feasibility study, the requirements for entering subsequent procedures, including basic and detailed design, have been met.
