Song Hwal-seop Declares Bid for Second Term in Daedeok-gu

Song Hwal-seop, a member of the Daejeon City Council, has officially announced his candidacy for a second term in Daedeok-gu's Constituency No. 2, adopting the slogan 'People's Livelihoods First, Economy First, Daedeok's Development.' Song is appealing for residents' support by installing large promotional banners throughout Daedeok-gu. Song emphasized his commitment to continuing a responsible role, based on his experience in field-oriented policy implementation and his past legislative activities, stating, 'Politics should be judged by results, not by words.'

During his previous term, Song spearheaded initiatives such as establishing systems to improve the living environment around Lake Daecheong, promoting ordinances for the development of healing agriculture and the AI industry, institutionalizing pet crematoriums, and creating an industrial complex in the Sinil district. He explained that these efforts have simultaneously strengthened the local community's living environment and industrial foundation.

For this election, he presented 'People's Livelihoods First, Economy First, Daedeok's Development' as the core direction, outlining a plan to simultaneously address issues directly related to residents' lives and expand the region's economic base.

Song has served as Chair of the Daejeon City Council's Steering Committee, a member of the Industry and Construction Committee, and a member of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts. He also served as Chair of the Special Committee on Regional Issues and Regulatory Innovation and as a member of the Special Committee on Livelihoods and Economy. He has also been a member of the Daedeok Innopolis Renewal Committee, the Consumer Policy Deliberation Committee, the Policy Committee Chair of the National Association of City Council Steering Committee Chairs, the External Cooperation Committee Chair of the Daejeon Volunteer Association, and a board member of the Daejeon Sports Council Rugby Association. He holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from Chungnam National University.

Song expressed his ambition to lead the recovery of regional development and urban competitiveness, stating, 'When Daedeok thrives, Daejeon thrives.'
