Noh Young-min requests review of Chungbuk governor primary results
Noh Young-min, former Chief of Staff to the President, officially requested a review from the party on the 17th, raising suspicions of organized illegal activities during the Democratic Party's Chungbuk Province gubernatorial primary process. The leaked party membership list lies at the core of these allegations.
Noh Young-min's camp claims the leaked list was actually used to interfere with the primary, asserting that the results were not legitimately determined.
While a request for review of the gubernatorial primary has been filed, the primaries for local government heads within Chungbuk have advanced to the runoff stage. In the Cheongju mayoral primary, Lee Jang-seop and Park Wan-hee advanced, while in the Chungju mayoral primary, Noh Seung-il and Maeng Jeong-seop will compete in the runoff. The runoff elections are scheduled from the 14th to the 16th.
