North Korea Tests Key Weapons Systems (June 6-8)
North Korea conducted tests of key weapons systems from June 6 to 8, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on June 9.
During the tests, North Korea claimed to have fired Hwasong-11 series short-range ballistic missiles equipped with cluster munitions, confirming their ability to devastate an area of 6.5 to 7 hectares with high density.
The tests also included electromagnetic weapon systems, carbon fiber mock-up projectiles, and a mobile short-range anti-aircraft missile complex, among other systems. Kim Jong-sik, First Deputy Director of the Workers' Party's Munitions Industry Department, oversaw the experiments.
