Ruling, Opposition Parties Agree on 26 Trillion Won Supplementary Budget
Ruling and opposition parties on the 10th reached an agreement at the National Assembly on the government's supplementary budget proposal worth 26.2 trillion won.
The budget for the 'oil price damage relief fund' project within the supplementary budget proposal will be maintained as per the government's original plan. This initiative aims to provide payments ranging from a minimum of 100,000 won to a maximum of 600,000 won per person to individuals in the bottom 70% of income earners.
The budget for K-Pass will be increased by 100 billion won to temporarily boost discount rates. An additional 200 billion won will be allocated for stabilizing naphtha supply and demand. A further 200 billion won is earmarked for establishing oil price-linked subsidies for agricultural machinery, increasing subsidies for tax-exempt diesel for farmers and fishermen, and alleviating fuel cost burdens for coastal passenger ships. Procedures to amend the relevant law's enforcement decree are underway to provide temporary support through oil price-linked subsidies for charter buses.
