Amid concerns that U.S. prices will continue to rise, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant diagnosed the current price increase as a phenomenon that will appear briefly and then disappear. Regarding the rise in the March Consumer Price Index (CPI) released that day, Bessant explained it as "a temporary fluctuation caused by a one-off increase in gasoline prices," predicting that the overall price trend will stabilize.

He mentioned the issue of rising prices during a visit to a company in Westchester County, New York, to promote the Trump administration's economic policies, explaining the short-term impact of external factors such as fluctuations in international oil prices on prices.

According to data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, gas prices surged 21.2% in March. This marks the largest monthly increase since record-keeping began in 1967. Congressman Mike Roller explained that the situation in the Middle East created volatility in the oil market and led to cost increases, adding that the volatility caused by the Middle East situation would end.
