Former Footballer Ahn Jung-hwan Donates ₩436 Million
Former national football team player and broadcaster Ahn Jung-hwan has donated 436 million won earned from his YouTube channel to financially struggling youth. He mentioned that the cumulative donation amount from his YouTube channel has surpassed 436 million won, and he is working towards reaching 500 million won.
Ahn explained the background of his donation, saying, "I wanted to teach the children through talent donation for as long as my body allowed." He added, "As I continued, I began to think about helping friends in more difficult environments, and that's how I reached this point." He specifically cited the significant costs associated with football as a reason for donating to youth, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Ahn revealed that the initiative began from his own underprivileged childhood, leading him to believe it was good to offer help, a sentiment that has continued to the present.
tvN's entertainment program 'You Quiz on the Block' shared this news by releasing a preview video featuring Ahn Jung-hwan on its official YouTube channel on the 11th. The video included the description, 'Ahn Jung-hwan, who donated his entire YouTube earnings of ₩436 million! His sincere desire to help underprivileged youth.'
Additionally, Ahn Jung-hwan recently expressed his intention to use part of the profits from his new pizza business to help neighbors in need. Ahn, a former striker for the South Korean national football team and a key player in the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup's historic run to the semifinals, has been active in entertainment programs since his retirement.
