Gyeongbu Expressway Bus Fire: Over 20 Evacuated Safely

Around 4 PM today (12th), a bus caught fire near the Giheung Rest Area on the Gyeongbu Expressway heading towards Seoul, prompting an urgent evacuation of over 20 passengers. The bus involved in the fire was en route from Boeun, South Chungcheong Province, to Seoul. Fortunately, the situation was resolved before the fire could spread, resulting in no casualties.

The fire, which occurred on the Gyeongbu Expressway crowded with holiday travelers on a Sunday afternoon, led to traffic congestion in the area as fire authorities controlled some lanes during firefighting operations.

Fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
