Reform Party's Gyeongnam Provincial Chapter Launches on the 16th

The Reform Party has officially announced the establishment of its Gyeongnam Provincial Chapter on April 16th. This follows the party's official formation of the Gyeongnam Provincial Chapter Preparatory Committee and appointment of Jeong Seong-dong as its chairman during a Supreme Council meeting at the National Assembly on April 6th.

The Reform Party has recruited Jeong Seong-dong, the preparatory committee chairman who defected from the People Power Party, and Kang Myung-sang, director of 365 Hospital. Chairman Jeong Seong-dong stated that inquiries about joining the Reform Party are ongoing. Party leader Lee Jun-seok also indicated a willingness to recruit defectors, noting that the party is receiving calls from individuals excluded from the nomination processes of the two major parties.

The Reform Party's recruitment of figures from the People Power Party raises concerns about a potential split in conservative votes during local elections.
