Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae: 'Heavy Responsibility Felt as Laws Reshaping Judicial System Take Effect'
Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae attended the first National Conference of Judges' Representatives of the year on the 13th, expressing a heavy sense of responsibility regarding the implementation of the 'Three Judicial Laws' and pledging to develop effective countermeasures. During the conference, Cho noted the significant concerns felt by judges as laws fundamentally altering the judicial system are being implemented, and conveyed his heavy responsibility as Chief Justice. He emphasized that effective measures are being devised to minimize public inconvenience and judicial anxiety, and that efforts will be made in various ways by pooling wisdom at the National Conference of Judges' Representatives.
Meanwhile, Kang Dong-won, a presiding judge at the Seoul Family Court, and Cho Jeong-min, a presiding judge at the Bucheon Branch Court, were elected as the new leadership committee to continue discussions related to the Three Judicial Laws.
The National Conference of Judges' Representatives is a body where representative judges elected from courts at all levels express opinions or make recommendations regarding judicial administration and judicial independence.
