Former Broadcasting and Communications Commission Chairwoman Lee Jin-sook held a press conference at the People Power Party's Daegu City Chapter on the 14th, urging Party Leader Jang Dong-hyuk to restore fair primary election procedures after being cut from the nomination for the June 3 local election Daegu mayoral race.

She warned that if the current nomination review process continues as is, Daegu citizens' dissatisfaction will be directed at the People Power Party, not the Democratic Party. Lee argued that arbitrary exclusions without standards or principles for leading candidates should never happen again within the People Power Party, emphasizing that there should not be a second or third Lee Jin-sook in the future.

Lee stated that political parties exist for citizens and that if principles are not upheld, she will stand with the citizens to prevent injustice and realize justice. While acknowledging Jang's proposal on the 9th for her to run in a by-election, calling it a 'highly appreciated sentiment,' she added, 'What is more important is establishing principles correctly within the People Power Party.'

She further stated that accepting erroneous decisions under the guise of 'party first, self second' without such corrections would make her complicit in unfairness and injustice, once again hinting at the possibility of running as an independent candidate.
