Government Unveils 'Mega Zone' Policy to Revitalize Regional Economies

The government has announced plans to create 'Mega Zones' aimed at revitalizing regional economies. This initiative will drive economic growth by leveraging regional characteristics through seven types of customized support, strengthened deregulation, and the enactment of a special law within the year.

For the 'Mega Zones,' the government has prepared customized support packages spanning seven sectors, focusing on fostering industries suited to regional characteristics and creating jobs for each package.

The existing regulatory sandbox system will be advanced to allow business models to be tested within 'Mega Zones,' reinforcing the institutional foundation. This aims to lower entry barriers for new industries and support companies in bringing new technologies and services to market.
