Daejeon Education Office Launches Fixie Bike Safety Campaign

The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education held a campaign on the 22nd in the Dunsan-dong area to ensure the safety of two-wheeled transportation such as fixie bikes. This campaign was organized in cooperation with Daejeon City Hall, Dunsan Police Station, and the Model Drivers Federation to help citizens develop safe commuting habits.

With the increasing use of two-wheeled vehicles that pick up speed on school commute routes and in urban areas, the importance of safety management has become more prominent. The Daejeon Office of Education has taken steps to prevent accidents by strengthening both on-site enforcement and education. The campaign highlighted the risks of riding fixie bikes, which lack braking systems, on roads, and provided essential guidelines for using bicycles and personal mobility devices. The focus was on emphasizing behavioral standards to be observed in daily life, including the use of protective gear and adherence to traffic signals.

The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education plans to distribute educational materials related to bicycles and personal mobility devices to schools in the region and expand safety education that connects with parents and households through experiential learning linked to classes, as well as through newsletters and card news.
