Jeju City is launching a housing cost support program worth a total of 1.07 billion won to aid in the residential stability of elderly residents facing financial difficulties.

This support is a separate initiative established by Jeju City, distinct from the government's housing benefits. It targets elderly individuals aged 65 and over who live alone and do not own a home, provided they are receiving living or medical benefits. The support will be disbursed annually, with a maximum of 700,000 won per household, differentiated based on local rent levels. However, those residing in public rental housing or borrowing homes from other family members are excluded from this program.

After reviewing applications received since February, Jeju City plans to disburse the housing costs to approximately 1,600 individuals around March 30th. Last year, the city invested 1.036 billion won to provide housing cost support to 1,539 elderly residents without homes.
