LG Electronics, NVIDIA Boost 'Physical AI' Tech Collaboration

LG Electronics and NVIDIA are embarking on comprehensive collaborations in the 'Physical AI' sector. The two companies will strengthen cooperation in areas such as robotics, smart factories, and data center cooling solutions, expanding the 'Physical AI' ecosystem that applies AI technology to the real world.

Madison Huang, Senior Director of Omniverse & Robotics Product Marketing at NVIDIA, visited LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul on the 28th to meet with William Cho, CEO of LG Electronics. Discussions on the strategic cooperative relationship between the two companies covered collaboration in next-generation robots, smart factories, and data center cooling solutions.

They are concretizing cooperation in areas such as enhancing the intelligence of next-generation home robot 'CLOiD', integrating NVIDIA's accelerated computing chipsets into smart factory manufacturing lines, and certifying AI Data Center (AIDC) cooling solutions. LG Electronics will advance robot learning and decision-making capabilities through the application of NVIDIA's robotics platform and accelerate cost reduction and commercialization through digital twin-based simulations.

To address the heat issues stemming from data center expansion driven by the spread of AI infrastructure, the two companies will proceed with certifying cooling distribution unit (CDU) technology, a key component for liquid cooling methods. This is an essential element for operating high-performance AI servers.

Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, has repeatedly emphasized the 'age of Physical AI' and has referred to LG Electronics as a key collaborative partner. This visit by Director Madison Huang was an opportunity to materialize this partnership.

Through this collaboration, LG Electronics plans to expand its business beyond its home appliance-centric B2C business structure into B2B areas such as robotics and data centers. The company plans to drive innovation by leveraging physical AI robots and high-efficiency data center cooling solutions as future growth engines.
