Song Young-gil Mentions 'Lee Jae-myung's Intentions' on Party Leadership Bid

Song Young-gil, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate for the Incheon Yeonsu-gap parliamentary seat by-election, stated regarding the possibility of running for party leader in the August convention, "I will decide after gauging the intentions of leader Lee Jae-myung and listening to the opinions of party members."

At a field supreme council meeting held at the Incheon Yeonsu-gu election office on April 24, Song refuted Supreme Council member Chung Jin-lae's claim that he was 'strategically nominated,' stating, "It is not Supreme Council member Chung who gave me the nomination," and emphasized a party centered on its members.
